Anna Rex is a Professional Cello Player

Anna teaches classical cello, with a focus on the main cello repertoire of today. This includes Sonatas, Concertos, Solo works, and Contemporary pieces. Anna is happy to prepare for the AMEB exams or the ABRSM itinerary. She also likes the Suzuki books for beginners.

About Anna Rex

She studied with Richard Dedecius at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Anna also joined the Queensland Youth Orchestras where she enjoyed a steady progression from Junior Strings to QYO1, under John Curro.

On her first orchestral tour to Europe Anna secured a place in the International Festival Youth Orchestra in Aberdeen.

At the age of thirteen, Anna won 2nd Prize in the Australian National Youth Concerto Competition (Richard Tognetti came first, aged fifteen), with a performance of the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto accompanied by the Orchestra. Shortly after this Anna went to Paris, France to study with Michel Strauss.

   My son has been with Ms.Rex for 1 year and 3 months now. He started from zero with Ms.Rex but now I'm proud to say his play becomes enjoyable and melodic. He is also selected into the school String Ensemble. I always accompany my son and video the sessions. During the class I can feel Ms.Rex's passion on music and teaching.
